Tom Watson

Darren Clarke fell among the leaders with the age of 4 68, Tom Watson has produced some magic over the British Open with a hole in one hole in the sixth to spice up the second round at Royal St. George.
At the same time, bogeyed 20-year-old Tom Lewis, the first amateur to lead the Open since 1968, and two of the first six holes Friday to abandon the top he shared with Thomas Bjorn on Thursday.
Lewis was named after Watson, five times Open champion who is still a lot of the game at the age of 61.
Two years ago, almost won the Claret Jug for the sixth time, losing to Stewart Cink in a playoff after the specter of the aperture 72. Watson got to start slow start in this one, with the opening 72, but he gave everyone in charge of the sixth session of the nominal - 3.
Go with the iron 4, Watson sent a high ball to the green, then saw it bounce once before falling back to the cup for a hole in one.
Threw his arms in the air, high fived playing partner Henrik Stenson, the other shook hands with his partner, Louis, then took a bow in the direction of the runway.
"I hope to have seen go in," Watson quipped as he walked towards the hole to retrieve his ball.
It was his second hole-in-one in the open. ACED Dustin Johnson 16 in the opening round.
While Tom and Tom went in opposite directions, Clark made the biggest charge up the leaderboard. Rolled out in the appendix - 90 for eagle at the seventh, then birdied three of the next six holes to pull even with Bjorn, who at the time of departure in the afternoon. Clark 4 under for the tournament.
Clark took advantage of ideal conditions to go low. There was barely a cloud in the sky and the wind a little bit off the Strait of Dover, and flags hanging limply over the runway.
Once in the face of golf in Northern Ireland, Clark has become a later stage. It was the first time Graeme McDowell to win the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. The arrest of fellow and then another, Rory McIlroy, and large the same in the last month in Congress.
British Open gave Clark a chance to shine again.
"I enjoy any time I go back on the links," said 42 years ago. "It's the biggest and best tournament in the world - why can not I enjoy it the only major played on the grass started on the game?".
Undo the last prominent player out. Walked twice U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen on Friday due to a back injury. Was likely to make the cut in any case after opening with 76.
Also in danger of a return to the homeland: Ben Curtis, who won the last Open played at Royal St. George in 2003. Shot 77 in the first round.
Lewis began on (2), and the first amateur to lead the open since 1968, and the first of the pace of any major since Mike Reid, the U.S. Open in 1976.
Was actually for his chance.
"I would be happy just to make the cut and be the leading amateur," said Lewis. "Apart from the top of the leaderboard."
He gave up that spot after a campaign in the errant hidden in the fourth pot. Lewis barely got out, and push the ball only about 10 meters before it reaches the edge of the green approach and the development of two about a ghost.
Two holes later, he surrendered last stroke. After watching Watson celebrate their success, Lewis hooked his tee shot far left and take the green shadow of another.
Lucas Glover, who began the day one stroke off the lead, and twice claimed a share of the top of the ghost in front of No. 10 to pay back to 4 under. And he was tied with Miguel Angel Jimenez, who was for a time to start this afternoon.
During the day, and was expected to breeze to capture and make scoring tougher. That can work against players like McIlroy, and the heavy favorite but began a slow start with 71, and the highest ranked Luke Donald, the last of those who opened with 71.
